Lobsters, crabs, oysters, and swordfish–not necessarily the typical food of NYC. But Blue Water Grill in Union Square is one seafood restaurant in NYC that prepares their fresh fare with an expertise rivaling the best eateries of New Orleans and Seattle.
First of all, if oysters are your thing, Blue Water Grill NYC is a sort of wonderland–standing at par with the tourist-centric Oyster Bar in Grand Central Terminal (but with a classier ambiance). These shelled mollusks are available from the waters off both coasts, and continue to delight seafood-lovers from around the New York City. But if oysters only satisfy one part of your shellfish appetite, Blue Water Grill’s shellfish tower is a smorgasbord of seafood fresh from the Hunts Point Fish Market.
And although the elegant atmosphere conveys one thing, the menu here tells another. You’ll find all kinds of dishes here, from yellowfin tuna tacos to lobster benedict. But save a trip to Blue Water for a special occasion, because the costs might not be within everyone’s budget (but the prices are quite reasonable for seafood of this quality).
Not into the whole seafood extravaganza? Options like their New York Strip Steak and Roasted Chicken are prepared with just as much mastery as their ocean-based entrees. But no matter what you end up ordering, a trip to Blue Water Grill is always indicative of a premium seafood meal at a top-notch eatery.
Before you go to their Union Square West location, be sure to make a reservation! The tables at Blue Water Grill fill up fast–especially on weekends and around dinnertime. So do your seafood palate a favor and treat it to the delicacies offered right here in New York City.
